Pool shape
Round
A simple circle — the social pool
A round pool is the most social shape there is: everyone faces everyone, there's no deep-end hierarchy, and it drops into a small garden or courtyard without dominating it. It's the natural choice for cooling off, kids' play and spa-like plunge pools rather than lap swimming.
Strengths
- Fits where nothing else does
- Structurally efficient — the circle resists ground pressure well
- No corners at all: the easiest shape to keep clean
- Reads as a garden feature, not just a pool
Trade-offs
- No real swim lane
- Rectangular covers and blankets fit poorly
- Diameter above ~6 m starts to waste garden space
