L-shape
Two zones at a right angle — swim in one leg, play in the other
The L-shape is really two pools sharing water: a long leg for swimming and a shorter leg for steps, play or a tanning ledge. The right angle lets the pool wrap a terrace or house corner, and the zones separate naturally — swimmers keep their lane while kids stay in the shallow leg.

- True zoning: swim lane and play area don't collide
- Hugs terraces and building corners beautifully
- The short leg is a natural shallow zone with steps
- More perimeter for seating and access
Trade-offs
- More wall per litre than compact shapes — higher build cost
- The inner corner needs thought in circulation planning
- Covers are harder: two rectangles or a custom shape
