Pool plan

9 × 4.5 m Oval · pool plan

Family pool

About this pool

A full family pool: a shallow end where kids stand and games happen, a proper deep end for diving-free swimming, and enough length that two people can swim without negotiating. This is the most-built size class in private gardens for a reason.

The oval trades corners for one continuous curve. It sits beautifully in planted, informal gardens and among period houses, and the long axis still gives a proper swimming line. Circulation is excellent because there are no corners at all for water to stall in.

Questions about this plan

How much water does a 9 × 4.5 m pool hold?
About 46.6 m³ (46.6 tonnes of water) at 1.2–1.8 m depth — computed from the actual pool outline, not a rule of thumb.
How long does it take to fill?
Roughly 31 hours from a standard garden tap (~1.5 m³/h). A water delivery service fills it in a few hours.
Is this size right for my garden?
The water surface is 31.7 m²; plan roughly 1.5–2× that footprint including the surrounding deck. Open the plan in the designer and set your own deck margins to see the full footprint.
Can I change the depth or edge type?
Yes — open the plan in the designer and adjust depths, edge system (skimmer, deck-level overflow or raised), finishes and accessories freely.
